Beeston Primary School are proud to be in partnership with Magic Breakfast, providing healthy breakfasts to our pupils so that they are settled and ready to learn.
Experts tell us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that children who eat a good breakfast achieve higher grades in school, than children who do not eat breakfast. Of course we want our children to do well in school, so every morning we offer free bagels in class to all children.
We receive from Magic Breakfast over £8300 of food in the year to ensure none of our children go hungry. Breakfast time is not just term time, the goods are shared during the holidays for all our hungry children.
We also run a daily Breakfast Club in school from 7.50am. The subsidised cost of the club is £3.00 per childcare session.
Breakfast consists of toast, crumpets, a wide choice of cereals, fruit juice and yoghurt. When the cold weather arrives, we also add beans on toast to our menu.
After eating breakfast, children are kept busy learning with a wide range of activities. We have board games, construction toys, art materials and computers. Playing alongside their peers teaches children valuable communication and social skills and they learn important skills like sharing and turn taking.
On a Tuesday and a Thursday the children take part in organised sports activities in the hall with outside providers (Health for All Active Club.) All these activities are included in the daily charge. When the school bell rings the children are escorted to their relevant class by a member of staff.
If you would like a place, please contact the school office to request an application form.
Breakfast Club is very popular and places are limited. If there are no places available your child will be placed on a waiting list.
